Senior Manager, Security Operations

About the Position

The Senior Manager of Security Operations position leads a team of security professionals across three shifts, setting functional objectives and ensuring alignment across team performance and organizational goals. This role is also responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the Security Operations team and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of security analysts across three shifts
  • Oversee the development and implementation of security strategies and policies
  • Establish functional goals that meet operational and financial performance measures
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders within and external to the security team
  • Manage budgets while maintaining compliance and operational baselines

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in security operations with an emphasis on leadership
  • Proven management and leadership experience within a security organization
  • Experience developing and executing policies that have an immediate impact on security posture
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • In-depth experience managing security operations functions with an emphasis on global teams
  • Ability to translate organizational objectives into projects that help mitigate and address risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience implementing compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, CMMC)
  • Experience managing budgets and providing organizational development opportunities

This position entails strict adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards and regulations. Responsibilities include the protection of information, upholding confidentiality, and conducting all activities in alignment with Mimecast’s policies. Completion of relevant role-based security and privacy training is a requisite for this role.
