Senior Sales Engineer - Milan

About Mimecast

The work people build is worth protecting, and it's harder to protect than it used to be. AI agents now move at machine speed with human-level access, and a small slip-up can become a very public one. We disrupt cybercriminal activity before that happens. We think fast, go big, and always demand more of ourselves. We work hard, deliver, and repeat. We grow with real determination and put success well within reach. We push each other to be better and expect to be pushed back, in a community built on respect, where everyone is counted. Work Protected.

  • Work with the Service Delivery team to support complex solutions and oversee the implementation and success of pre-sales proofs of concept.
  • Contribute to key customer engagements and help train sales teams on Mimecast products.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and technology partners, and participate in marketing events as needed.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience selling endpoint software, with the technical depth, autonomy, and commercial judgment to support complex enterprise opportunities.
  • Experience working with demanding business customers and large strategic enterprise accounts or equivalent environments.
  • Strong familiarity with networking and security technologies and services.
  • Understanding of spam, viruses, email security, and internet-based threats.
  • A proven record of taking ownership of customer issues and resolving them under pressure.
  • Experience leading projects through to completion and coordinating input and resources across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • The ability to explain technical solutions clearly to business-focused customers.
  • A proactive, self-sufficient approach, with flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills and disciplines.
  • Understanding of email system migration processes and tools used in Exchange migrations and upgrades.
  • Understanding of email archiving solutions, their business drivers, and email management, security, and archiving solutions such as Forcepoint, Proofpoint, Barracuda, and Symantec Enterprise Vault.
  • Experience supporting customers in a pre-sales environment and consultatively selling complex services.
  • Hands-on experience with anti-spam, anti-virus, archiving vendors, and related services.
  • Experience with SaaS solutions, indirect sales environments, and high-growth, dynamic companies.
  • Project management experience and experience working with technology partners are helpful.
  • Ideally based in Milan
